James trained at the Birmingham Trust for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and has worked as a child psychotherapist across the West Midlands for the last decade. He is currently the Head of Service for Children's Community Mental Health and Neurodevelopmental Services at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, alongside maintaining clinical practice, and is co-chair of the ACP's Midlands Regional Group. James formerly taught child development research on the pre-clinical MA at BTPP and recently completed his doctoral research at the University of Essex. That research forms the main part of this talk, and has led to three papers published in the Journal of Child Psychotherapy.
