Kevin Booth: Director and Senior Tutor
Kevin is the Director of BTPP and is a Senior Tutor and Supervisor on the Clinical Doctorate Training in Child Psychotherapy in BTPP. Kevin's professional experience includes psychotherapy in early intervention settings, infant mental health, psychotherapy with survivors of CSA and trauma, foster care and in forensic contexts. He has an interest in organisational and group dynamics.
Jemima Phorson: Head of Training & Director of Operations
Jemima has over 10 years’ experience of working as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist in a CAMHS setting. Her interests include working with children in care (and their networks) as well as organisational dynamic and working addressing Equality Diversity and Inclusion within the CAPT profession. Jemima currently teach on the clinical training and M7 course.

Helen Randall: M7 Course Lead
Helen Randall is the Organising Tutor for the M7 Psychoanalytic Observation Studies Course and is a tutor for the Infant Observation, Work Discussion. Psychoanalysis, Power and Identity and Psychoanalytic Theory modules. She also works a psychotherapist in a 0-25 mental health service. Her interests include infant mental health, multi-generational trauma and working with schools and communities. .
Philippa Boulter: Adult Training Course Lead
Philippa developed and leads the Modified Adult Psychoanalytic Training . She worked in CAMHS as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist for many years. She now works as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice, primarily with adults. Her interests included adults with developmental trauma
Belinda West: Adult Training Deputy Course Lead
Belinda is deputy clinical lead for the Modified Adult Training. She worked for many years in CAMHS as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist. She now works in private practice as an adult psychotherapist and is a training therapist for the ACP.
Simon Archer: Adult Training Tutor
Simon teaches and supervises on the Adult Training Course and also serves as a personal tutor to trainees. He trained initially in Fine Art before completing a Post‑Graduate Certificate in Education and beginning his career in adult education. His therapeutic work developed through roles with young offenders and later as an Art Therapist, Group Therapist, and Assistant Manager in a therapeutic community. He undertook psychoanalytic training with the British Association of Psychotherapists and the Institute of Psychoanalysis and is a founding member of the North of England Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists (Newcastle), where he continued as a supervisor, training analyst. Simon has also been external advisor for WMIP.
Dr Elizabeth Francis: Lead for Research Training and Senior Tutor
Dr Philip Rowley: Senior Research and Academic Tutor
Philip teaches on the Clinical Training in Child Psychotherapy at BTPP. He currently works as a child and adolescent psychotherapist in a CAMHS service. His research interests include adolescent self-harm, discourse analysis and the study of talk in psychotherapy interactions.
Lucy Mills: Senior Tutor and Supervisor
Lucy is a Senior Tutor and Supervisor on the Clinical Doctorate Training in Child Psychotherapy in BTPP. Her professional experience includes offering psychotherapy in specialist community and in-patient mental health services for children and young people. Since 2016 Lucy has worked in private practice based in south Birmingham. In addition to her clinical and teaching work, Lucy is an Editor at the Journal of Child Psychotherapy.
Lorraine McLeod: Senior Tutor and Supervisor
Lorraine is a Senior Tutor and Supervisor on the Clinical Doctorate Training in Child Psychotherapy in BTPP. Currently working in a CAMHS service in the north, she has extensive experience working with children in care, kinship care and adoption. She is also in a leadership role for the new Children and Young People’s Gender Service (North). Lorraine has a special interest in race and diversity which she teaches in BTPP. Lorraine is also a training tutor on the Doctorate in Child Psychotherapy at the Northern School of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy
Margaret Randall: Associate Tutor
Margaret is an Associate Tutor for the Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy training. She has worked in CAMHS and has supported trainees in placement as a Service Supervisor. She has special interests in the task of supervision, working with adopted and children in care and their networks and in group and organisational processes and systems
Amy Wallis: Clinical and M7 Tutor
Amy is a tutor on the M7 course and on the clinical training. Amy teaches theory and co-facilitates the race and diversity seminar for clinical trainees. Amy works as a child and adolescent psychotherapist in Birmingham, for the NHS and in private practice.
Catherine McFarlane: M7 Tutor
Catherine is a tutor for the work discussion and infant observation modules on the M7 course. She is retired from working as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist in the NHS.
Elizabeth Priestley: M7 Tutor
Liz teaches on the M7 course and on the Infant Mental Health course. She works in the NHS as a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and supports the development of trainees on the clinical training.
Kanese Da Costa: M7 Tutor
Kanese is a tutor for the work discussion, infant observation and young child observation modules on the M7 Psychoanlytic observation studies course. Kanese is a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist working in CAMHS. Kanese’s interests include organisational and group dynamics, working with young people in the care system and adopted children and also infant mental health.
Kanese has a keen interest in supporting the growth and development of psychoanalytic concepts being made accessible to everyone regardless of their knowledge and background.
Shabnum Hudda: Business Finance & Operations Manager
Shabnum is responsible for administration, finance, office and facilities management. She brings experience from the third and charities sector as well as having worked in retail finance and the motor trade.
Sonia Lloyd: Administrator
Sonia is BTPP’s longest serving employee having started her role in 2007 at the previous office in Edgbaston. She built up the the administration systems and library facilities to support all the courses and their management. Sonia found new premises and successfully transferred and installed these systems to the Custard Factory in 2013. She continues to support administration and operations.
